We had the New Brighton Police and Fire Department come to visit us at Pike Lake to talk about community safety! Thank you, community helpers!!
We have had an exciting and busy first few weeks of Kindergarten!! Students created Hopes and Dreams for the year, learned and practiced our Pike Lake Promise, and made Class Agreements to help support each other in reaching our goals. Check out our “Pictures” tab for more fun from the beginning of the year!
Good Morning Kindergarten Families!
I hope you are all having a wonderful summer! I am so excited to be back at Pike Lake Education Center this year and look forward to meeting you and your child at Early Goal Setting Conferences. Please sign-up for a time slot that works best for you, or email me with another day and time, if you’d like to schedule a different time to meet.
Pike Lake will have a “Welcome to School” event on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, from 4:00-6:30pm, where we’d like to welcome you and your family to the Kindergarten Center before school begins! Please look for more detailed information to come.
This event is also an opportunity to inquire about transportation, complete any health forms, enroll for free/reduced priced meals, sign up to volunteer at our school, visit the classroom, and meet other families. See you then!!
Here are a couple of resources as you prepare for back-to-school:
Students were able to participate in the second annual Pike Lake Science Fair last week, learn from fellow scientists, inquire about scientific processes, and get inspired to discover more! Way to go, curious kids!
We made a class goal of completing 100 Acts of Kindness by the 100th Day of School and were able to reach our goal before the 85th day of school!! Students have been practicing using kind words and actions, helping our school by showing the Pike Lake Promise, and managing big feelings with calm-down strategies. Ask your child to share how our class voted to celebrate! Keep practicing kindness, Kindergarteners!
